Alex R makes sumptuous glassware, specialising in fused glass vessels, wall panels and lightboxes. She will open her whole house up this year with larger pieces shown in the upper two floors and a pop-up shop in the ground-floor studio.

Alex is a figurative painter and teacher at the Lavender Hill Studios, London's first atelier school teaching traditional 19th-century drawing and painting techniques. On display will be portraits and other work all painted exclusively from life.

Alex Wills is a paper-based textile artist. She collects snippets of information from every day life and recycles it to create thought-provoking abstract stories. After extracting leftovers from their original settings, she collates them into a considered environment, enabling them to take on a new life.

Ali Filose is a textile artist and teacher in Somerset, where she specializes in A-level art/textiles. Her inspiration is her everyday environment and family life, combined with a passion for vintage textiles. The work on display includes colourful textile pieces, subtle floral studies with vintage fabrics, plus new work that incorporates children’s drawings, and the theme of ‘Make Do and Mend’.

Ali produces one-off, contemporary, mostly thrown ceramics. Black line, either scribbled or scored, is often used with simple blocks of color to contrast and complement the clean, white porcelain forms.

Alice Shelmerdine and Emma Whyte take old, unloved stuff and turn it into I-must-have-it new stuff. Furniture and fabrics, destined for landfill are rescued and re-made into cushions, blankets, bags, clothes and jewelry.

Students of the weekly life drawing class show their work.

Work on paper, drawings and limited-edition prints.

Anna’s work involves a freedom of movement in large-scale charcoal drawings, inspired by the female form. Both framed and unframed drawings and limited-edition reproductions will be available for sale. Ceramics by Carolyn Tripp will also be exhibited.

Annette paints vibrant still lifes, sultry moonlit forests and vivid, striking, and highly original scenes exploring the visual language of the subconscious, using acrylic on canvas. Supporting sketches will also be available in a range of materials.
